{"id":315533,"date":"2025-02-26T16:38:15","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T21:38:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stjames.org\/?p=315533"},"modified":"2025-02-27T10:07:23","modified_gmt":"2025-02-27T15:07:23","slug":"2025-nominating-committee-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stjames.org\/2025-nominating-committee-report\/","title":{"rendered":"2025 Nominating Committee Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>February 26, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Nominating Committee consists of Anne Strassner, <em>Chair,<\/em> Missy Condo, Tristan Bultman, Norris Daniels, Susanna Guffey, Catherine Workman, Bob Stinson, Anna Pitoniak, and Tom Goss. Zack Thompson, <em>Rector,<\/em> serves ex-officio.<\/p>\n<p>At the Annual Meeting in May 2025, the parish will elect a Warden and three Vestry members. Richard Brown, Junior Warden, is eligible for re-election.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Ying Garcia-Bory has completed one three-year term and is eligible for re-election. Dolly Bross Geary and Bob Stinson have each completed two consecutive three-year terms and are ineligible for re-election.<\/p>\n<p>At the annual meeting in May 2019, the parish approved a change to our By-laws, to move from contested elections for Vestry service to having the parish elect a fixed slate of candidates, in which the number of candidates matches the number of open positions.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee received a few nominations from the congregation, all of which were thoughtfully and prayerfully considered. In our work together, we discussed the criteria that we felt were important for the slate given the continuing and current Vestry membership, as well as the Expectations and Responsibilities of all Vestry members.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Nominating Committee presents the following slate for the St. James\u2019 2025 Annual Parish Election:<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #d40000;\">For Warden:<\/span><\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>Richard Brown<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #d40000;\">For Vestry Member:<\/span><\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>Alexandra Bacon<br \/>\nYing Garcia-Bory<br \/>\nLarry Hunter<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Under the By-laws, within three weeks after the nominations are posted in the parish house, any person qualified to serve as a candidate for the office of Warden or Vestry member, who shall present to the Vestry, or have presented on his or her behalf, a petition that his or her name be listed as a candidate for such office signed by at least twenty persons eligible to vote at the Annual Parish Election, shall have his or her name added to the ballot as a candidate for such office.<\/p>\n<p>Respectfully submitted,<br \/>\nAnne Strassner, <em>Chair, Nominating Committee<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>February 26, 2025 The Nominating Committee consists of Anne Strassner, Chair, Missy Condo, Tristan Bultman, Norris Daniels, Susanna Guffey, Catherine Workman, Bob Stinson, Anna Pitoniak, and Tom Goss.
