Children and youth serve as acolytes, lay readers, prayer leaders, ushers and chalice bearers; the children\u2019s choirs sing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Acolytes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>Acolytes<\/strong>\u00a0carry crosses, torches, flags and banners in the procession and assist the priests during the liturgy at the 9:10 a.m. service[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Children&#8217;s &amp; Family Ministries&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>Children\u2019s &amp; Family Ministries<\/strong>\u00a0is the umbrella group for everything that goes on for families with children birth through sixth grade.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Children&#8217;s Eucharist&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong><a title=\"Worship with Us\" href=\"#\">Children\u2019s Eucharist<\/a><\/strong> focuses on young children at the 9:10 a.m. service on the first Sunday of each month. The Primary class students worship with their parents, all of the children\u2019s choirs sing, one Church School class writes and leads the Prayers of the People, and all of the children are invited up to the front for the homily.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Communion Awareness&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>Communion Awareness<\/strong>\u00a0classes are offered twice each year. Children and parents participate in an instructed Eucharist and are able to ask all the questions that they have about communion.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Decalogue Leaders&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>Decalogue Leaders<\/strong> lead the reading of the Ten Commandments during Lent at the 9:10 a.m. service.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Family Fellowship&#8221;][vc_column_text]<a title=\"Family Fellowship\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stjames.org\/family-fellowship\/\"><strong>Family Fridays<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0feature bingo, movies, Lego building, dancing, and dinner from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Every Family Friday includes a mission component and encourages helping others. The room is staffed by three wonderful women every Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Pledging Member&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>Pledging Member<\/strong>\u00a0is someone who has let the church know their\u00a0<strong><a title=\"Stewardship\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stjames.org\/commitment-form\/\">financial commitment to the parish<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(what they intend to give) for annual operations in the calendar year. The gift(s) to fulfill the commitment may be made at one time, every week, or in another giving pattern during the year.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Prayer Leaders&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>Prayer Leaders\u00a0<\/strong>lead the Prayers of the People at the Sunday services.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Sunday Morning Hospitality&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>Sunday Morning Hospitality<\/strong> includes coffee and donut holes downstairs from 8:30-9:05 a.m., in between the 9:10 and 11:15 a.m. services in Donegan Hallway, and after the 11:15 a.m. service in Sunderland Hall.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Toddler-Primary Chapel Service&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>Toddler-Primary Chapel Service<\/strong>\u00a0is a brief worship service in the Primary classroom. The children light the candles, take up the offering, make a prayer circle and say \u201cThank you, God for\u2026\u201d, hear a homily by one of the clergy, and extinguish the candles. On the fourth Sunday of the month, this service includes communion.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Toddler-Primary Offering&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>Toddler-Primary Offering<\/strong>\u00a0is the total of offerings taken up in our Toddler and Primary Chapel Service. The ministry that receives each year\u2019s Toddler-Primary Offering is chosen by the children and teachers.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;Worship Cart&#8221;][vc_column_text]The <strong>Worship Cart<\/strong> at the back of the nave provides packets for children\u2019s use during the service. Each packet contains crayons, a pencil, paper and the \u201cSunday Paper,\u201d an activity page for children based on the Gospel lesson of the day.
